Hi again,
   As the wind blows in some cooler weather today, my new layout for April is ready. The new kit is called FOLLOW YOUR DREAM and it is my first introduction to a stunning new range of paper by a company called Farm House Paper Company.

The layout can easily accommodate 5 photos but, should you have more, could be adapted to fit them. The theme is focused around dreams and goals but with the Hot Air Balloon paper you would be able to use a variety of themed photos from outdoors and activities to portrait photos.

Included in your kit is some Tim Holtz Distress Stain, which is such fun to work with. I have used it to create a splatter effect on the page.

One of the techniques focused on in this layout is creating you own 3D banner. This is such a versatile element to use on a layout and I have no doubt that you will use it again.

Finally You will create some flowers using teabags. A similar technique was taught by Alma van Biljon at the AWS Scrap Marathon last year. Again, a fantastic technique that you are sure to use over and over again.

Hi Everyone,
   Wow, it's been an age since my last kit, so sorry. Had a very special visitor for a couple of weeks and didn't do any work.

So the March kit is ready and it is called YOU ARE MY LITTLE SUNSHINE. It is a rather feminine layout using blues and greens with a touch of yellow. Amazing I know, yellow 2 months in a row! The kit can accommodate 5 photos.

Something I don't often do is work with sticker sheets, so this is what makes up most of the embellishment on the layout this month. I have also added in a lovely yellow doily from which I have made a flower as well.

The main technique that I have used may be familiar to some of you who have been doing my kits for a long time. The technique involves rolling paper into little tubes and adding them to the layout as embellishment. A fun and interesting addition to a page.

The typewriter letters make for an interesting title effect.

Hi Everyone,
    This months kit is called MOMENTS LIKE THIS and allows for a variety of different photo themes. The colours I have used are a little unusual for me, but since yellow is becoming a trendy colour, I decided to step out of my comfort zone and give it a go.

The layout can accommodate 5 photos of varying sizes. Although I used colour photos on my layout, because the colours were rather bright, I desaturated the colour a bit to give the photos a faded look.

As I so often do, I have made use of distressing throughout the layout, but the technique I focused most on is creating your own flowers with the paper in the kit, using a water spritz and scrunching method. I will put a step by step post up later to guide you through the process.

The leaves are created in a similar way and preprinted flowers can be cut from the patterned paper and treated with the same technique.

Happy New Year to you all. I hope that 2013 brings you many photo opportunities and loads of scrapping time.

January's kit is ready and it is called CHERISHED. It is a heritage themed layout that would work well for wedding and family photos too. The colouring is black, cream and beige. The layout can accommodate 3 standard sized photos.

Again I have used a lot of distressing on the layout but added a chic look with the addition of roses and diamante gems.

The main focus is on the paint techniques. I have made use of an interesting technique that was featured by Patricia Basson at the AWS Scrapping Marathon held by Cathy in The Strand.

The addition of the lamp post helps to carry the vintage theme.

NOVEMBER KIT

Hi Everyone,
    It's November already and only a little more than a month until Christmas. Hard to believe the year is nearly over.

This months kit is called ADVENTURE and is themed around Travel/Boy. The colouring is grey blues and red. Included in the kit is some stunning BoBunny paper, which is always guaranteed to produce a super layout. The layout can accommodate 4 photos of vaying sizes.



The technique I have focused on this month is using coffee to add distressing to your page. Just as you would with paint or ink, you can achieve a splatter effect using either coffee or tea.

I have used the coffee to colour the string used to hold the tags as well as the twill accents.

The arrows on the layout repeat the pattern that is in the tag.

This layout would work well for travel or holidays photos, following the theme of the paper but also for photos which depict a personal journey or adventure.

Hi there,
This months kit is something a bit more classic looking. With subtle colours of cream and grey, this layout can accommodate 3 photos. Black and white photos will work very well although I have used coloured photos that have been desaturated slightly.

The lacing adds a feminine touch, although the layout wouldn't necessarily be just for girl photos. A variety of themes such as garden, family events or special people could be used . I think the layout would suit wedding photos rather well.

The techniques focused on in this layout include making your own texture paste and mask with which you create an interesting stone wall effect.

A ribbon ring adds interest as well as emphasize the colour palette.
